Job Summary

Apex Systems is seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT Operations team, you will be responsible for providing top-level technical support and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Manage and maintain the Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage accounts, networking, and security components.
  • IT System Support: Support the installation, optimization, integration, troubleshooting, backup, recovery, modifications, security, and upgrading of IT systems and components both on-prem and cloud-based.
  • Troubleshooting and Resolution: Effectively troubleshoot and resolve moderate to complex technical issues both onsite and remote.
  • Maintenance Scheduling: Develop, update, and execute maintenance schedules on IT systems along with maintaining local and remote inventories.
  • Software Management: Manage and support in-house developed software, on-prem, and/or cloud/SaaS delivered solutions.
  • IT System Monitoring: Actively monitor IT systems, performance; identify issues; determine beneficial adjustments; and follow through on change implementation in compliance with all configuration change policies and processes.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Management: Develops and recommends ITIL best practice policies and procedures as well as Knowledge Base documentation and templating. Documents troubleshooting and resolution notes within the ITSM software.
  • Research and Development: Continuously conduct research to resolve issues and problems as well as increasing individual abilities and knowledge.
  • After-Hours Support: After-hours support when required. Typically for system updates and scheduled events.
  • Cyber Security and Compliance: Follow and implement Cyber Security policies and maintain SOX compliance.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related field with 3 years Sys Admin experience or 6 years' experience in an IT Administrative role.
  • Azure Experience: Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience architecting or IT System administration in an Azure environment.
  • Azure Services: Minimum 3 – 5 years' experience with Azure services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, Azure Security, Azure Active Directory, and Local AD.
  • Scripting and Automation: Minimum 1 – 3 years' experience scripting and deploying automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Power Automate or similar tools.
  • Cloud Security and Compliance: Prior experience implementing cloud security and compliance best practices.
  • Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Prior experience in monitoring and performance optimization of Azure-based systems.
  • Database Administration: Prior experience administering databases.
  • Microsoft Products: Prior experience administering Microsoft products such as Endpoint Manager (Intune), MS Defender, and O365.
Desired Experience and Skills
  • Relevant Certifications: Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Security Engineer) would be a plus.
  • Scripting and Automation Tools: Experience in scripting, Power Automate, and other automation tools.
  • Problem-Solving and Communication: Diagnosing, resolving, and/or escalating problems; interfacing with other groups to resolve problems and close issues; assisting in data gathering and problem analyses.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Workload Management: Ability to monitor workload and prioritize support tickets.
  • Cloud and On-Premises Applications: Hands-on familiarity with cloud and on-premises applications.
  • Cisco Networks and Network Troubleshooting: Understanding of Cisco networks and network troubleshooting.
  • Microsoft 365 Cloud Ecosystem: Experience with supporting/administering applications within the Microsoft 365 cloud ecosystem including Office, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • IDP and Cloud Content Management: OKTA or other IDP experience; Box or other cloud content management experience.
