Position Summary: The Claims Adjuster is tasked with assessing policyholder claims, investigating incidents or damages described in the claims, and determining the legitimacy of reimbursement requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive investigations to verify vehicle service contract details, eligibility criteria, and assess any applicable warranties.
  • Analyze claim specifics to identify mechanical failures.
  • Request and evaluate inspection results as necessary.
  • Confirm component coverage and labor rates based on contract specifics.
  • Utilize resources for parts and labor to achieve optimal outcomes involving new, used, or rebuilt components.
  • Decide on the best repair methods based on case details, pricing, and warranty status.
  • Accurately estimate repair costs using relevant software.
  • Apply contract terms and conditions appropriately to all claims.
  • Authorize necessary repairs, towing, lodging, and rentals in line with contract stipulations.
  • Timely escalate claims that exceed authority limits to the Claims Manager.
  • Maintain proactive communication with stakeholders to ensure a top-tier claims experience.
  • Ensure precise and consistent documentation of files.
  • Monitor call queues and manage agent availability effectively.
  • Anticipate and address all customer needs, both internal and external.
  • Primarily manage claims calls from designated queues.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience is required, ideally in the automotive repair or parts sector.
  • ASE or manufacturer certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Exceptional organizational and customer service abilities.
  • Strong technical knowledge in automotive repair and claims processes is essential.
  • Excellent negotiation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Sound critical thinking skills to analyze problems, gather data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Proficient in mathematical calculations.
  • Familiarity with typing and software applications, including Microsoft Office and claims processing systems.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and follow through on tasks.
  • Must handle confidential information with discretion and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 25 pounds; specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
  • Work environment typically has a moderate noise level.
