About the Role:

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) plays a vital role in ensuring patient safety and well-being at Glen Oaks Hospital. As an active member of the treatment team, the MHT provides continuous patient care, supervision, and interaction, while also serving as a role model for patients of all ages.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care and supervision, including monitoring and assisting with daily activities.
  • Work collaboratively with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Assist with restraining procedures and provide support during crisis situations.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, as required.

Requirements:

  • High School Degree or equivalent required; Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
  • Two years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state.
  • Successful completion of Handle with Care (HWC), Verbal De-escalation, and CPR training.
