Job Title: Bilingual Clinician - Mental Health Specialist

The National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Bilingual Clinician to join our team. As a Mental Health Specialist, you will work with children who are fleeing their country of origin and arrive in the U.S. without a parent or legal guardian. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct mental health assessments and provide ongoing individual and group counseling services to ensure the well-being and safety of these vulnerable youth.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Conduct mental health assessments and provide individual and group counseling services to children in care
  • Screen for trauma, human trafficking, and crisis intervention services
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to maintain a therapeutic and emotionally healing environment
  • Establish treatment goals and assist in the implementation of individualized service plans
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to team clinicians
  • Actively participate in the delivery of Orientation for children in care
  • Participate in treatment team activities for complex cases
  • Work with program administration, case managers, medical, and educational staff to identify best ongoing case management practices


Requirements:


  • Master's degree in social work with clinical experience in the program
  • Must be licensed based on State requirements
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, automotive insurance, and a good driving record
  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency
  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, internet search, people management programs, smartphones, and tablets
