Air Traffic Control Operations Supervisor

As a pivotal figure in an ATC-11 terminal facility, the Support Manager is tasked with overseeing and orchestrating the operational dynamics within the facility. This role encompasses the management of various support functions including training, quality assurance, traffic management, airspace regulations, procedural adherence, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities
The Support Manager will lead a specialized workforce dedicated to delivering air traffic control services and providing tactical and strategic support. The effectiveness of this role is critical to ensuring the safe, orderly, and efficient movement of aircraft, thereby influencing the overall functionality of the aviation sector.
Key duties include:
- Providing mentorship and training to team members, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Aligning support resources with operational demands to ensure uninterrupted air traffic control services.
- Regularly assessing work processes to enhance organizational performance and meet customer expectations.
- Delegating tasks, setting priorities, and managing schedules to optimize workflow.
- Evaluating team performance and ensuring equitable application of performance standards.
- Identifying training needs and facilitating professional development opportunities for staff.
- Engaging with labor representatives to address workforce matters.
- Contributing to the achievement of facility objectives and strategic goals.

The Support Manager reports directly to the Air Traffic Manager, with performance evaluations based on the successful attainment of program objectives.
Requirements
Employment Conditions
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after December 31, 1959.
- Submission of specific documentation is required.
Specialized experience is essential. Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
1. Have held an FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or higher position for a minimum of one year; OR
2. Have been facility rated or area certified for at least one year in an ATS facility; OR
3. Have held a Management Support Services position for at least one year in an ATS facility.
Note: All qualifications must be fulfilled by the closing date of the announcement.
Evaluation Criteria
Eligible candidates will be assessed based on FAA Managerial Workforce Planning Selection Factors.
Education
Educational qualifications cannot substitute for required experience.
