Job Summary

The Traffic Flag Attendant, reporting to the Parking Lot Manager, plays a crucial role in minimizing vehicle traffic and parking in neighboring streets associated with events. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume post 2 hours prior to event start, in uniform, including reflective vest and flashlight
  • Confirm proper signage and barricade at post and report to supervisor if not in place
  • Direct vehicles and pedestrians to appropriate areas and assist with traffic flow setup while wearing reflective vest
  • Report any difficult situations to supervisor and take note of vehicle description or license plate if possible
  • Assist in closing the parking area and maintain accurate time records
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed and directed by supervisor
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Existing knowledge of or ability to quickly learn:
    • Street names and traffic posts in the area
    • Parking policies and procedures
    • Parking pass identification
    • Layout of venue and grounds
    • Event times and program information
  • Ability to:
    • Work outside
    • Bend, stand, and walk (including hilly terrain and stairs) for entire work shift
    • Lift and carry up to 20 pounds
  • Dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion within staff, vendors, and community interactions
  • Secondary language fluency is a plus
COVID-19 Workplace Safety Requirements

This position requires interacting with employees, patrons, vendors, and others who may or may not be vaccinated or recently tested. Personal protection equipment (PPE) will be required by LA County Department of Public Health protocols and LA Phil. Compliance with LA Phil's COVID-19 Prevention Plan, including testing and vaccination requirements, is mandatory.
