The Air Gateway Operations Manual sets forth the standards and expectations for each Gateway Operation. The Air Gateway Operations Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with these guidelines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and finalize Master Air Waybills (MAWB) for consolidations and back-to-back shipments.
- Verify that all files are complete with necessary documentation in the correct order.
- Strive to meet and exceed the expectations of both internal and external clients.
- Coordinate space bookings with various carriers.
- Ensure accurate rating of all MAWBs.
- Acquire spot codes for all specially negotiated carrier rates.
- Input spot rates and codes into the C1 system.
- Monitor AWB tracking and provide updates to relevant branches.
- Investigate any discrepancies related to weight and rates reported by carriers.
- Maintain organized filing systems.
- Perform additional tasks as required or requested.
This position does not include direct supervision of other employees.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The following qualifications are necessary:
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail, with the capability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Self-driven, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Capable of performing job responsibilities without posing a safety risk to oneself or others.
- Ability to engage positively and effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
- Familiarity with international and domestic geography.
- Understanding of the freight and cargo industry, including routing and transportation protocols.
- Knowledge of negotiation techniques and practices.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- 1-3 years of experience in Air Gateway operations is preferred.
- Proficient in PC applications, especially MS Office.
This role is primarily conducted in a climate-controlled office setting under standard office conditions. Some travel may be required to fulfill job responsibilities.
While performing job duties, employees are frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers for handling tasks, reach with arms, and communicate verbally. Employees may also need to stop, kneel, crouch, and lift weights up to 25 pounds. This position demands the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
