About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Grand Geneva Resort. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of food, ensuring exceptional quality and consistency in all dishes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assign and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient operation of the kitchen
  • Select, train, and develop culinary staff to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation
  • Manage food costs, labor, and departmental expenses to optimize profitability
  • Oversee the culinary student program, including recruitment, training, and on-site management
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement new menu concepts and recipes
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the culinary team

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or certification preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in kitchen management, preferably in a high-volume production environment
  • Proven track record of success in managing food costs, labor, and departmental expenses
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and safety protocols
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction
