Student Ambassador and Community Engagement Specialist

Job Summary:

California State University, San Bernardino is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Student Ambassador and Community Engagement Specialist. As a key member of our Orientation and First Year Experience team, you will play a vital role in representing the university's mission and values through various events and activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform as a university ambassador at various events, including orientations, community appearances, and campus events.
  • Represent the university's mission and values in a positive and friendly manner, interacting with students, faculty, staff, parents, families, children, alumni, and community members.
  • Work collaboratively with the Orientation and First Year Experience team to develop and implement programs and events that promote student engagement and success.
  • Assist in creating content and maintaining social media channels to engage with the community, fans, and support university-related activities and events.
  • Participate in events throughout the year, including summers, evenings, and weekends, as applicable.

Requirements:

  • Admission or registration as a CSU student.
  • Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
  • Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate).
  • International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate).
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License may be required.
  • Ability to lift and move 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Must have good posture and physical ability to perform actions while wearing a costume.

  • An outgoing and creative personality with a willingness and desire to have fun.
  • Ability to perform wacky promotional activities in front of audiences.
  • Ability to work scheduled event dates, including evenings, weekends, and during university breaks if necessary.
  • Warm and engaging personality.
  • A professional demeanor and image to prove compatible with CSUSB.
  • Independent and self-motivated, while flexible and adaptable.
  • Ability to multi-task and respond to priorities.
  • Able to work both individually and with a team.
  • Excellent teambuilding and management skills.
  • Well-honed organizational skills.

Compensation and Benefits:

Student Employment Anticipated Hiring Range: $17.00 per hour.

The compensation offered will consider internal equity and experience among other factors.
