Job Description

Job Title: Community Liaison

Status: Exempt EEO: Professional

Purpose of the Role: This position is pivotal in analyzing, developing, enhancing, and sustaining essential and innovative community collaborations, partnerships, and sponsorships across the CAN Community Health service region. The role focuses on executing and implementing community engagement initiatives, particularly emphasizing relationship building at both mezzo and micro levels within the CAN service areas. The Community Liaison will work across various strategies to ensure CAN maintains a respected and effective strategic profile that aligns with its vision, mission, and values. Networking and relationship management are central to this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Community Development and Networking (50%):

  1. Collaborate with local leaders to advance CAN's external engagement strategies, supporting both long-term strategic goals and short-term business objectives.
  2. Manage and promote strategic relationships and partnerships within the CAN network, conducting comprehensive community relations analyses to identify engagement opportunities.
  3. Attend local networking events to represent CAN, market the organization, and foster business development.
  4. Stay informed on health policy and advocacy issues relevant to community health organizations and coordinate advocacy efforts.
  5. Provide coaching and capacity building to local leaders regarding engagement with community coalitions.

Program Development (25%):

  1. Work with local leaders to identify challenges and opportunities in healthcare delivery, developing consensus approaches for improvement.
  2. Lead strategic planning for programmatic and clinical needs, defining goals and objectives in line with CAN's strategic plan.
  3. Engage in grant writing and pursue funding opportunities that align with community engagement needs.

Marketing and Donor Development (25%):

  1. Enhance CAN's visibility and impact within donor communities, identifying and sustaining sponsorship opportunities.
  2. Support marketing efforts to boost CAN's brand recognition in service areas.
  3. Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, ensuring alignment with CAN's mission.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  2. A minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience in community engagement and relationship development.
  3. Background in public health, community planning, or advocacy preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  1. Strong leadership and strategic thinking abilities.
  2. Results-oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Proficient in computer software and able to work independently.

Work Environment: This role operates in a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment.

Travel Requirements: Moderate to significant travel is expected, requiring a valid driver's license.
