Job Description

Job Title: Community Liaison

Status: Exempt EEO: Professional

Purpose of the Role: This position is pivotal in analyzing, developing, enhancing, and sustaining innovative collaborations and partnerships within the CAN Community Health service area. The role focuses on executing community engagement initiatives, emphasizing relationship building at both mezzo and micro levels across various service areas. The individual will work strategically to ensure CAN maintains a respected profile that aligns with its vision, mission, and values, primarily through networking and relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Community Development and Networking (50%):

- Collaborate with local leaders to enhance CAN's external engagement strategies that align with long-term goals and immediate business objectives.

- Serve as the primary individual responsible for achieving local community SMART goals.

- Establish and promote strategic partnerships within the CAN network, conducting comprehensive analyses of community relations and business development opportunities.

- Identify and foster long-term collaborations with various organizations, ensuring alignment with priority populations and community needs.

- Attend local networking events to represent CAN, market the organization, and cultivate potential partnerships.

- Stay informed on health policy issues relevant to community engagement and coordinate advocacy efforts.

- Provide coaching and capacity building to local leaders, facilitating best-practice community engagement trainings.

- Implement new community engagement strategies annually, as approved by leadership.

2. Program Development (25%):

- Collaborate with local leaders to identify challenges and opportunities in healthcare delivery, developing consensus approaches for improvement.

- Lead programmatic and clinical initiatives, defining goals and objectives in line with CAN's strategic plan.

- Engage in grant writing and pursue funding opportunities to support community engagement programs.

- Maintain a comprehensive networking database to track interactions and partnerships.

3. Marketing and Donor Development (25%):

- Enhance CAN's visibility and impact within donor communities, identifying and sustaining sponsorship opportunities.

- Support marketing efforts to elevate CAN's brand recognition in the service area.

- Cultivate relationships with potential donors, ensuring alignment with CAN's mission.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 4 years in community engagement and relationship development.

Skills: Strong leadership, strategic thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.

Work Environment: This role operates in a professional office setting, requiring moderate to significant travel within the service area.

Physical Requirements: The position may involve sedentary work with occasional walking or standing.
