Job Overview

Salary: $45,000

Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will work under the guidance of the Security Director and Site Director. The main duty will be to manage and guide the security personnel at the designated facility. The shift supervisor will be expected to offer direction and support to both Residence Workers and Security Guards, ensuring a secure environment for staff and clients alike.

Key Responsibilities:
The Shift Supervisor's duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Continuously monitor clients, units, and grounds to guarantee the safety and security of each resident.
  • Inspect all items entering the facility to uphold client and staff safety.
  • Provide crisis prevention and intervention when necessary.
  • Document incidents and residents' concerns accurately in the logbook and on incident reports.
  • Maintain regular communication with all department supervisors regarding social services matters.
  • Manage entry logs to ensure all individuals entering the facility are documented and accounted for.
  • Oversee the completion of cleaning and service tasks assigned to program aides.
  • Contribute to the establishment of site goals and objectives by offering recommendations that enhance site efficiency.
  • Assist clients with inquiries and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Monitor video surveillance of all facility areas.
  • Comply with safety, health, and fire hazard guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Report any immediate safety hazards to the appropriate supervisory or maintenance personnel.
  • Work collaboratively to address issues that may occur.
  • Provide coverage as needed.
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Perform all other essential duties to ensure the facility operates smoothly.

Professional & Personal Qualifications:

  • NYS Security License, F-80 Certificate of Fitness, CPR/Basic First Aid certification.
  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries while working with clients.
  • General knowledge of operations in a residential facility is preferred.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and standards.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Commitment to high standards and excellence.
  • Good judgment with the capacity to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Ability to assess emergency situations and respond effectively.
