Position Overview

The Hospital Security Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the hospital's assets, staff, patients, and visitors. This role involves maintaining order, identifying potential threats, and implementing preventive measures. The specialist will also operate hospital vehicles and enforce security protocols effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of the premises to safeguard life and property, preventing incidents such as theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
  • Implement access control measures by securing entrances and exits, and managing alarm systems as necessary.
  • Direct and manage pedestrian and vehicle traffic to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
  • Operate and uphold the maintenance of facility vehicles in compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Ensure all security and facility equipment is maintained according to manufacturer specifications and organizational guidelines.
  • Document incidents thoroughly in accordance with established procedures to maintain accurate records.
  • Inspect packages and deliveries for security compliance.
  • Support fellow security personnel in their duties, utilizing physical intervention when necessary.
  • Identify and report fire hazards and safety concerns; provide escort services for hospital staff as needed.
  • Perform additional related duties as required, recognizing that all responsibilities outlined are essential functions of the role.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • A valid Security Guard License in New York State is required; an Armed Security Guard License may also be necessary, along with any relevant specialized certifications.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of pertinent experience is essential.

Compensation Information
The salary range for this position is $26.11 per hour. This figure represents a good faith estimate of potential base compensation for successful candidates at the time of this job posting and may be subject to change. Various factors may influence the final salary, including location, specialty, service line, years of experience, education, and internal equity considerations.
