Job Overview

Salary: $45,000

Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will work under the guidance of the Security Director and Site Director. The main duty will be to supervise and guide the security personnel at the designated facility. The Shift Supervisor will be responsible for providing leadership and support to both Residence Workers and Security Guards, ensuring a secure environment for staff and clients alike.

Key Responsibilities:
The Shift Supervisor's duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Continuously monitor clients, units, and grounds to guarantee the safety and security of all residents.
  • Inspect all items entering the facility to uphold safety standards for clients and staff.
  • Implement crisis prevention and intervention strategies as necessary.
  • Document incidents and residents' concerns accurately in the logbook and on incident reports.
  • Maintain effective communication with all department supervisors regarding social services matters.
  • Oversee entry logs to ensure all individuals entering the facility are documented and accounted for.
  • Review cleaning and service tasks assigned to program aides to confirm completion.
  • Contribute to the establishment of site goals and objectives by providing recommendations to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Assist clients with inquiries and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Monitor video surveillance across all areas of the facility.
  • Comply with safety, health, and fire hazard policies and procedures.
  • Report any immediate safety concerns to the appropriate supervisory or maintenance personnel.
  • Work collaboratively to address and resolve issues that may occur.
  • Provide coverage as needed.
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Perform all other essential duties to ensure the facility operates smoothly.

Qualifications:

  • NYS Security License, F-80 Certificate of Fitness, CPR/Basic First Aid certification.
  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries while working with clients.
  • General knowledge of operations within a residential facility is preferred.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and standards.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish and English is advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Commitment to high standards and excellence.
  • Sound judgment with the capacity to make timely and effective decisions.
  • Ability to assess emergency situations and respond appropriately.
