Position Overview:
The Senior Commercial Loan Officer plays a pivotal role in managing commercial banking services for enterprises with revenues up to $60 million.

As a key member of the loan officer team, this position is recognized for achieving exceptional business development outcomes, overseeing portfolio management, and fostering collaboration while representing the organization professionally.

This role also includes mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:


Drives business growth by securing new commercial banking clients through effective outreach strategies; nurtures and develops relationships with influential community members, including accountants, attorneys, and local leaders; participates in networking events, charitable activities, and corporate gatherings to build connections.

As a Senior Commercial Loan Officer, this role is accountable for achieving or surpassing established sales targets.

Oversees portfolio management and underwriting by collaborating with clients on their accounts and addressing any issues related to commercial relationships; partners with team members to streamline the credit application process, conduct site assessments, liaise with underwriters for decision-making, and perform annual reviews of the assigned portfolio; identifies, assesses, structures, and documents commercial credit transactions to optimize profitability while managing risk; monitors credit quality within the assigned portfolios and takes appropriate actions as necessary.

This position focuses on managing portfolios with the most significant and complex clients.

Collaborates closely with other departments to resolve client service challenges and cross-sell additional banking products; addresses high-level executive account and loan requests to ensure superior service delivery.

As a senior team member, this role represents the organization at civic and community events to enhance visibility and promote business development.

Acts as a mentor to credit analysts, portfolio managers, and less experienced loan officers, providing guidance, learning opportunities, and support for relationship building and training as needed.
Engages in ongoing training to enhance sales and presentation skills, as well as knowledge in commercial banking, SBA, treasury management, and other relevant areas.

Effectively manages relationships with service providers and vendors; establishes strategic expectations; develops performance metrics; evaluates vendor performance, provides constructive feedback, and holds them accountable.

Ensures compliance with all relevant banking laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and applicable anti-money laundering statutes, as well as federal consumer protection legislation.

Qualifications and Skills:

7-10 years of experience in commercial lending and sales, with a proven track record of meeting progressive performance goals, developing commercial business, managing portfolios, and effective collaboration across departments is essential.

A comprehensive understanding of commercial lending laws, regulations, and guidelines is required.
A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, statistics, business, or a related field is necessary; a Master's degree is preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Familiarity with EasyLender, Cleartouch, OnBase, CreditQuest, and various government and investor software/web portals is preferred. Experience with CRM software is also preferred.
Experience in the financial services or banking sector is advantageous.
Completion of, active pursuit of, or willingness to begin progressive OBL/ABA certification courses related to this position is required.

This position is based in an office environment, with standard working hours from 8:30 AM to 5:15 PM, five days a week.
