Technology Consulting, Inc. is seeking two Desktop Build Technicians to support our client in the energy sector. This role is a contract position with potential for extension or permanent placement. POSITION OVERVIEW
Our client, a leading energy provider, is engaged in a significant project to refresh their computing systems. The Desktop Build Technician will be integral to this initiative, focusing on the replacement of hardware and software across the organization. This role involves assembling new PCs and providing advanced technical support in the surrounding areas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct assessments to determine hardware and software needs.
- Assemble computer systems by integrating components such as motherboards, CPUs, RAM, storage, and power supplies.
- Install and set up operating systems and various software applications.
- Ensure all hardware and software components are compatible and functioning correctly.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues effectively.
- Repair or replace faulty components as required.
- Execute thorough testing and quality assurance to identify and rectify system defects.
- Perform stress tests and diagnostics to confirm system reliability and performance.
- Document testing outcomes and provide constructive feedback for enhancements.
- Deliver on-site troubleshooting and advanced technical support to end users.
- The position will involve travel to various locations as necessary, with mileage reimbursement provided.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Desktop Technician role.
- Proficient in Windows 10 and 11, along with Microsoft Office and other productivity tools.
- Understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experience with the installation and configuration of Windows 10/11.
- Strong customer service skills and commitment to follow-through.
- Candidates must have reliable transportation for off-site work, with mileage reimbursement available.
- A+ certification is preferred.
