Key Responsibilities
  • On-Site Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations of underground and aerial cable plant damages to determine the cause and extent of the damage.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with State Dig Laws and Statutes, excavator requirements, and NESC standards to ensure compliance and accurate investigation.
  • Client Relationships: Develop and maintain professional working relationships with clients, contractors, technicians, management teams, and other personnel to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  • Damage Assessment: Conduct interviews with contractors, technicians, witnesses, police, homeowners, and other relevant parties to gather information and assess liability.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Professionally photograph and process the damaged scene to accurately portray and determine liability, and compile all investigation material for submission to the local handling office.
  • Claims Recovery: Assist the Claims Recovery team in post-investigation activities to ensure timely and effective resolution of claims.
  • Market Reporting and Lead Meetings: Develop and maintain monthly market reporting and lead meetings with clients to review and discuss market trends and opportunities.
  • Claims Process Knowledge: Maintain a working knowledge of the entire PRG claims process to ensure effective and efficient investigation and resolution of claims.
Requirements
  • Reliable Transportation: Possess a reliable and presentable personal vehicle with a valid driver's license and current insurance.
  • Strong Customer Service Skills: Demonstrate strong customer service skills in written and verbal communications to ensure effective communication with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Be proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel, as well as able to navigate a variety of operational tasks on a computer.
  • Investigation Experience: Possess investigation experience, preferably in the cable industry and/or utility locate industry.
  • Industry Knowledge: Have knowledge of the cable industry and/or utility locate industry, with a strong understanding of the relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Additional Skills: Possess additional skills such as law enforcement and/or prior investigator experience, and claims background.
