Disaster Assistance Investigator II

As a Disaster Assistance Investigator II with the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of disaster assistance programs. Your investigative skills and attention to detail will be essential in uncovering and addressing potential fraud and abuse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate allegations of fraud and abuse in disaster assistance programs, including reviewing evidence and conducting interviews.
- Prepare and submit reports and recommendations to management and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to share information and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date on changes to laws, regulations, and policies related to disaster assistance programs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, community organizations, and other government agencies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as criminal justice, sociology, or public administration.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in investigative work, preferably in a government or non-profit setting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
