Job Title: Municipal Business Development Manager

Valdes Architecture & Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Municipal Business Development Manager to join our team. As a key member of our business development team, you will be responsible for growing business opportunities and building strategic relationships with municipal clients in the Chicagoland area and surrounding regions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with our Vice President-Buildings, Director of Transportation, and Director of Utilities-Water/Wastewater to develop and implement plans to grow and fulfill our mission to provide quality architecture and engineering services to municipal clients.
  • Build a strong project pipeline with municipal clients across the Chicagoland area and select municipalities in Wisconsin and Indiana.
  • Identify project opportunities where architecture and engineering design services are required for municipal building projects, transportation projects, and water/wastewater projects.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the Chicagoland municipal market and stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments.
  • Work proactively to identify and position Valdes AE early for upcoming projects and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with our marketing group to develop and design marketing materials that support the business development process.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients, associations, and business networks to promote Valdes AE's services and expertise.
  • Participate in industry organizations and events to stay connected with key stakeholders and stay informed about industry developments.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years' experience working in the architecture and engineering marketplace, preferably with Chicagoland municipal/government clients.
  • Education/licensure in architecture and/or engineering is a plus.
  • Experience in sales and business development or a related role in the architecture and engineering industry.
  • Strong understanding of project and discipline workflow and how all design disciplines work together to complete projects.
  • Able to commit to and meet project deadlines and driven to provide outstanding service to both external and internal customers.
  • Willing to attend public meetings in the evening.
  • Must possess exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
