About the Role: As a key member of the Operational Performance Team, you will be responsible for managing contract compliance and financial performance in our Operations locations. You will report to and support the Senior Director of Operational Performance Management by managing activities and project status tracking associated with assigned performance team projects. This includes creating and maintaining project action plans for start-ups, shutdowns, and performance review meetings at individual locations as assigned. You will also be responsible for organizational and administrative activities such as travel booking, procurement, and interdepartmental communication and coordination efforts. This role requires you to act as the cross-functional project manager for multiple simultaneous small and medium size location projects assigned projects. Additionally, you will be responsible for any activity associated with the improvement of operational performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads and assists in activities necessary for achieving performance and profitability targets.
  • Manages multiple assigned projects with direction and acts as the project manager to a cross-functional team.
  • Create, manage, and/or maintain the Project Plans of assigned projects including the schedule, budget, duties of team members, identifying project goals and timelines.
  • Integrates and supports Lean implementation in process development.
  • Produces, implements, and manages processes designed to improve overall performance.
  • On-site support to operating locations to drive operational improvements impacting performance in areas of contract compliance, service delivery and financial performance.
  • Provides analysis of local procedures and practices and creates action plans for addressing operational deficiencies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Oversees individual location startups and shutdowns acting as a resource for guidance to a cross-functional team and the responsible party meeting our contractual and financial targets in these business activities.
  • Coordinates various levels of training to location management and staff on best practices and localized tools.
  • Performs other duties and activities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Build trust in the field with local staff through integrity, respect, and effective communication.
  • Possess strong organizational, presentation, and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently, and accurately with little direct supervision.
  • Aptitude to think creatively and strategically to anticipate changing requirements and serve as a change agent within the organization.
  • Detail oriented, with excellent follow-up skills.
  • Capability to solve problems in a practical and pragmatic manner.
  • Ability to manage a project, set deadlines, establish KPI's and goals.
  • Ability to handle competing priorities with and to identify urgent and critical priorities for the business.

Skills and Knowledge (Preferred):

  • 3 to 7 years project management experience.
  • 1 to 3 years transportation experience, focusing on field operations.
  • Knowledge of basic Transit related software including but not limited to; TMS, GBM, or Trapeze Blockbuster and Trapeze para-cutter, a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, preferably with Excel, including import and export functions.
  • Knowledge of financial literacy concepts in a business setting including budgeting, P&L management, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Travel Requirement: Up to 40%
Work Hours Requirement: Generally, 8am to 5pm on Weekdays, but non-standard work hours and weekends expected as necessary to support the activities of the business.
