Clinical Faculty Position in Surgery Oncology

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Colorectal Surgeon to join our faculty at the Medical College of Georgia Department of Surgery at Augusta University. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a clinical practice in the field of Colorectal Surgery, enhancing the Colorectal Surgery Program, and increasing clinic visits and surgical volumes related to colorectal cancer, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), benign colorectal and anorectal disease.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a clinical practice in Colorectal Surgery, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the growth and development of the program.
- Enhance the Colorectal Surgery Program through increased clinic visits and surgical volumes, and participate in the development of new clinical and research initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues in medical oncology and radiation oncology to re-establish the multi-disciplinary Colorectal Oncology Program and enhance its national reputation.
- Participate in the call schedule with the Divisions of Surgical Oncology and Minimally Invasive Surgery, and contribute to the education and training of general surgery residents.
- MD/DO degree and board eligibility in General Surgery and Colon and Rectal Surgery by the American Board of Colorectal Surgery.
- Additional fellowship training in Colon and Rectal Surgery and at least 5 years of General Surgery residency and an additional year of Colorectal fellowship.
- Assistant Professor: Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate postgraduate training.
- Associate Professor: Mid-level career faculty member with at least 5 years at the rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
- Professor: Senior level career faculty member with at least 5 years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
