Job Summary
The Medical College of Georgia, within the Department of Surgery, is actively seeking a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor specializing in Pediatric Surgery. The ideal candidate will have successfully completed an accredited fellowship in Pediatric Surgery and possess a strong ambition to develop and enhance a Pediatric Surgery program.
Key Responsibilities
The selected individual will be responsible for:
- Providing patient care and surgical services.
- Educating and mentoring residents and medical students.
- Participating in departmental leadership activities.
- Engaging in service-oriented initiatives and having the option to partake in clinical and basic science research.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold an MD/DO degree and be board-certified in Pediatric Surgery. Candidates should demonstrate a successful track record in leadership and program development.
- Assistant Professor: Entry-level faculty member with suitable postgraduate training.
- Associate Professor: Mid-level faculty member with a minimum of five years in the rank of Assistant Professor or equivalent experience.
- Professor: Senior-level faculty member with at least five years in the rank of Associate Professor or comparable experience.
Compensation and Benefits
This position is structured on a fiscal year basis, requiring a full-time commitment (1.0 FTE). Salary and compensation will be aligned with the candidate's education, experience, and accomplishments, subject to funding availability. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision coverage, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, retirement plans, tuition waivers, and wellness programs.
