Role Overview:
The Production Process Engineer will leverage a diverse skill set to support the leadership team in enhancing and refining production methodologies to meet client specifications while boosting productivity. This role involves applying expertise in product design, lean manufacturing principles, assembly and testing techniques, as well as quality assurance standards to facilitate effective production outcomes through strong interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate workforce utilization, spatial requirements, workflow, and design layouts for optimal production efficiency.
  • Compile and formalize product knowledge to create effective processes, documentation, work instructions, and quality control plans.
  • Analyze operational sequences and material flow.
  • Revise product structure routings and oversee the creation of templates while assessing the accuracy of standard production labor hours.
  • Maintain quality control checkpoints and lead continuous improvement initiatives to minimize rework and errors.
  • Act as the project lead for new product introductions and manage ongoing change requests.
  • Provide technical support for daily manufacturing operations and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist estimators in the quoting process by establishing labor, equipment, tooling, and service cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with Production and Engineering teams to ensure efficient production methods are in place.
  • Estimate production timelines and associated costs to inform management decisions.
  • Participate in job reviews with production staff.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing tools and methods to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support the EHS Engineer in safety initiatives and audits.

Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a minimum of a two-year degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or a related field. Proficiency in CAD/SolidWorks is essential, along with a solid understanding of quality control techniques, root cause analysis, and lean manufacturing principles. Strong communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and a commitment to personal and professional growth are vital.

Work Environment:
The role may require occasional travel and involves physical demands such as standing, walking, and lifting up to 45 pounds. Safety equipment, including safety shoes and glasses, is mandatory.
