Precise Systems Inc. SkillBridge Program Management Internship

Join Precise Systems, a solutions-based company focused on innovation in support of the warfighters, as a Program Management Intern. This internship is part of the DoD SkillBridge Program, which provides transitioning service members with valuable civilian work experience.

About the Internship

This internship is designed to provide transitioning service members with hands-on experience in program and contract management. As a Program Management Intern, you will work in a dynamic team environment, collaborating with various business units to learn and execute daily duties. You will have the opportunity to develop new skills, build professional relationships, and contribute to the success of Precise Systems.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate on all phases of projects from pursuit and capture through execution and contract completion.
  • Coordinate subordinate employee recruitment, selection, training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, professional development, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
  • Analyze cost, schedule, technical, and contract performance of company projects.
  • Participate in the negotiation of contracts and contract changes.
  • Coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract.
  • Provide primary customer contact for project activities, leading project review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, technical, and contract performance.
  • Develop new business or expand the product line with the customer.
  • Establish project budget and milestones, monitor adherence to budget and schedule.
  • Anticipate cost/schedule variances, risks, and technical difficulties and develop effective corrections.
  • Direct the work of employees assigned to the project.
  • Manage the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods, and employees.
  • Execute wide application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
  • Develop solutions to a variety of complex problems. May refer to established precedents and policies.
  • Work under general direction. Collaborate or independently determine & develop approach to solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with minimum 6 years' experience or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • High School or GED and 10 years' experience.
  • 4 years' experience managing personnel or teams of personnel of management level responsibility.
  • Experience leading dispersed teams.
  • Understands the analytical workflow, products, and tools.
  • Have demonstrated experience across the community and broad customer (DoD community) base.
  • Has a desire to continuously learn and improve new technologies/capabilities.
  • Identified and implemented process improvements.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software; SharePoint and other communications-related software programs.
  • Must have an Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher with a background investigation completed within the last four years.
  • Must have the ability to obtain program access.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands described herein are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employees must possess the ability to work in a standard office or conference room setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer. To visit other company sites, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle and fly in an aircraft, both of which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time. Employees must possess vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas will be required. This position requires an employee to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, or balance; reach, push, and pull drawers and doors open and closed. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Meets DoD SkillBridge Qualifications as per DODI 1322.29.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
