The Position

We're looking to add to our legal team a senior Investigations and Enforcement Counsel for the Regulatory group with 6+ years of legal experience to manage investigations, enforcement actions, and engage with regulators in this exciting, expanding field.

This role follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences.

The Game Plan

This position will work with a fantastic team of legal and regulatory professionals engaging FanDuel's regulators for all products across the United States and Canada, and support the continued innovation of those products while maintaining FanDuel's position as the most trusted brand in the industry.

Reporting to FanDuel's Director of Regulatory Investigations and Enforcement, this role will join a sophisticated team of legal and regulatory experts and:

  • Manage regulatory inquiries, investigations, incidents, and enforcement actions related to fraud, marketing, risk & trading, cybersecurity, responsible gaming, geolocation, and other areas of regulatory interest;
  • Own all necessary documentation, auditing, controls, metrics, and reporting related to these matters;
  • Partner with relevant internal teams, including Regulatory Engagement and Strategy, Product Advisory, Compliance & Enterprise Risk, Fraud, and Customer Experience Operations, to enable seamless integration of all regulatory obligations, transparency, and controls;
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders across FanDuel's business lines to build a strong knowledge of FanDuel's products, and address potential regulatory issues proactively;
  • Develop and support FanDuel's engagement and relationship with regulators and Market Access Partners;
What We're Looking For

We're seeking a highly qualified and experienced senior counsel with a strong background in regulatory law and a proven track record of managing complex investigations and enforcement actions.

The ideal candidate will have a J.D. from a top law school, be a member in good standing of at least one state bar, and have 6+ years of total legal experience, preferably including experience with a regulatory, investigative, or enforcement body.

The successful candidate will also have strong aptitude for legal research, problem-solving, policy analysis, and advocacy, preferably in an evolving or new area of the law, and excellent verbal, written, and strategic communication skills and an ability to collaborate effectively across a wide range of external and internal stakeholders.

Experience with conducting audits, inspections, and investigations, and implementing corrective actions, as well as in-house experience in a highly regulated industry or at a high-growth technology company, is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will also have experience engaging and advocating with regulators, including with mandatory reporting requirements, and be able to obtain state gaming licenses from various jurisdictions in order to represent FanDuel before regulators.

Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package, including medical, vision, and dental insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, a 401(k) matching program, and short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and stock program participation.

We also offer paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays, and FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.

We're an equal opportunities employer and believe in "We Are One Team". We're committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ethnicity, ancestry, religion, creed, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship status, marital status, disability, gender identity, gender expression, Veteran status, or another other characteristic protected by state, local or federal law.

We believe FanDuel is strongest and best able to compete if all employees feel valued, respected, and included. We want our team to include diverse individuals because diversity of thought, diversity of perspectives, and diversity of experiences leads to better performance.
