Job Title: Senior Counsel, Investigations

Major League Baseball (MLB) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Counsel, Investigations to join our team. As a key member of our Department of Investigations, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of the game by investigating allegations related to domestic violence, sexual assault, gambling, performance-enhancing substances, and other violations of baseball rules and policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate allegations and conduct interviews throughout the United States and in the Dominican Republic, and occasionally in other countries.
  • Draft detailed investigative reports, interview summaries, and other documentation related to significant investigations.
  • Review and analyze English and Spanish language documents, text messages, emails, and legal filings.
  • Work with analysts to gather and analyze publicly available information, including government records, social media, and news reports.
  • Liaise with local, state, and federal law enforcement entities about ongoing investigations.
  • Assist with reporting hotline management, including maintaining vendor relationships and issue response.
  • Conduct legal research and provide legal support to other MLB departments as needed.
  • Assist Clubs with certain internal investigations.
Requirements:
  • Fluency in Spanish (oral and written) required.
  • J.D. and a minimum of 5 years of legal experience required.
  • Significant experience in investigations required; prosecutorial or similar background preferred.
