SECURITY OFFICER 3


Security Officers are committed security experts with a proven capacity to operate autonomously and collaboratively within a dynamic, high-tech setting.

They function as a cohesive unit, monitoring the company's premises through both vehicular and foot patrols, as well as ensuring security at designated fixed sites in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations alongside company policies.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain proficiency and awareness of static guard post responsibilities
  • Plan and implement security support for SpaceX operations
  • Design and conduct advanced security training for all security personnel
  • Perform advanced research and analysis to support SpaceX security initiatives
  • Guide fellow security members in identifying and reporting suspicious activities to the operations center
  • Uphold a professional appearance and conduct
  • Execute security operations as directed by SpaceX security leadership
  • Conduct roving patrols of assigned areas
  • Carry out and evaluate risk assessments of critical SpaceX facilities
  • Provide mobile security assistance as instructed by the operations center
  • Respond to emergencies and offer on-scene leadership (fire/medical/suspicious individuals, etc.)
  • Develop and enhance emergency response protocols based on empirical data and experience
  • Coordinate domestic flight hardware transportation operations
  • Acquire advanced skill sets (EMT/investigations/surveillance/VIP escort/security hardware)
  • Act as a liaison with law enforcement, community leaders, and key stakeholders in the space sector

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent certification
  • 8+ years of experience in military, law enforcement, overseas security contracting, or advanced corporate security, or 1+ years as a SpaceX Security Officer 2
  • 1+ year of experience in executive protection, mobile asset protection, or emergency response teams

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree
  • Military deployment and/or counterinsurgency experience
  • History of managing critical incidents
  • Combat Medic, EMT-B, or Paramedic experience
  • Advanced medical emergency training (TCCC/TECC/Combat Lifesaver)
  • Documented leadership experience in small units
  • Impeccable character and integrity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to de-escalate conflicts
  • Experience in instructing security tactics and procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Extensive experience in team-oriented environments
  • A strong interest in safeguarding the future of space exploration
  • Proficiency in foreign languages

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Availability to work any required schedule, including nights, weekends, and rotating shifts
  • Position subject to pre-employment enhanced screening, including background checks, psychological evaluations, bi-annual physical fitness assessments, and drug and alcohol testing
  • Ability and willingness to occasionally stand in a static position for extended periods
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time to support SpaceX Security needs as necessary
  • Valid driver's license
  • Possess or be eligible for a valid state security officer license
  • Eligible for a U.S. Government security clearance
  • Ability to pass Air Force background checks for specific locations

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:
Security Officer /Level 3:
$26.00/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is only one component of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also qualify for long-term incentives, such as company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the opportunity to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Additionally, you will have access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks.

You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays each year.
