This essential position plays a crucial role in our Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) efforts, contributing to our nation's advancements in space exploration and defense.

Your role will involve establishing the foundation for the "Spaceport of the Future" initiative, a forward-thinking project aimed at revolutionizing access to space and technology.

This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of a groundbreaking era, utilizing your expertise to influence the next phase of space exploration.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify innovative range system solutions and integrate efficiencies in line with range objectives, including procurement, assessment, and demonstration to streamline operations.
  • Engineer system architectures, perform requirements analysis and decomposition, and conduct system performance testing and verification.
  • Execute engineering analyses to predict and address issues, design actionable corrective measures, and implement operational solutions for Launch Range and Network systems.
  • Support the development of system and subsystem requirements, architecture, and risk management documentation.
  • Engage in project life cycle activities, including pre-award acquisition, requirements and design reviews, integration, testing, logistics, and operational turnover.
  • Develop comprehensive system architectures and conduct requirements analysis, focusing on system performance testing and verification.
  • Enhance support for system and subsystem requirements, architecture, and risk management, particularly in advanced communication and networking technologies.
  • Provide insights to program leadership regarding emerging requirements and market opportunities for advanced communication systems, including VoIP and 5G.
  • Collaborate with developers and associated contractors alongside government counterparts.
  • Track requirements to subsystems, generate documentation, and validate that designs meet specified requirements.
  • Participate in or lead technical meetings and government-led studies, assess technical baselines, and ensure modifications meet established requirements.
  • Work with leadership to ensure continuous alignment of technologies and mission planning, enhancing mission capability and delivering value through innovative communication solutions.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques and tools, demonstrating the ability to apply MBSE methodologies to manage complex system models.
  • Knowledge of Microwave Systems, Low Speed Serial Data Transport, and ATM Network Migration to IP, with practical experience in microwave communication systems.
  • Expertise in VoIP technologies, including SIP, RTP, and codec optimization, with experience in designing and managing scalable VoIP solutions.
  • Experience in designing and optimizing 5G communication networks, with a deep understanding of 5G NR architecture and related technologies.
  • Experience in virtual network design and management, with knowledge of SDN, NFV, and cloud networking principles.
  • Experience in Public Cloud Infrastructure Build and Deployment, Infrastructure Automation, Networking, Security, and High Availability/Disaster Recovery.
  • Master's Degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with Eastern and/or Western Launch Ranges.
  • Engineering experience with Launch and Test Range Systems, IP Networks, and related fields.
  • Cybersecurity, technical, or project-related certifications such as CISSP, CSEP, or PMP.
  • Current DOD TS or TS/SCI security clearance.

Required Qualifications (Skills)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields with 7 years of industry experience.
  • 7 years of experience in Project Management, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Information & Network Security, or Network Management.
  • 7 years of experience in the design, development, integration, and testing of communication and information systems.
  • Experience transitioning ATM networks to IP-based systems, managing network evolution complexities.
  • Experience with requirements traceability, system-of-systems integration, and testing.
  • Experience with project and systems engineering tools such as MBSE, STK, JIRA, and similar platforms.
  • Technical skills for analyzing system problems, conducting root cause analysis, and performing technical trade assessments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • AN ACTIVE DOD SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION FOR WHICH, YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN.
