POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Dietitian will play a crucial role in delivering nutritional advice, crafting tailored dietary plans, and assisting patients in reaching their weight management objectives. This professional should possess a robust foundation in nutrition and dietetics, outstanding communication abilities, and a genuine desire to aid others in enhancing their health and wellness. Furthermore, the Dietitian will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, physical therapists, pharmacists, and mental health experts, to ensure a well-rounded approach to weight management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform thorough nutritional evaluations for participants in the program.
  • Create and execute customized nutrition strategies that align with individual health requirements, preferences, and weight loss aspirations.
  • Offer continuous guidance and encouragement to participants to help them maintain their dietary regimens and achieve lasting weight loss.
  • Educate participants on nutritional fundamentals, healthy eating practices, and necessary lifestyle modifications for effective weight management.
  • Track and assess participant progress, making adjustments to dietary plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide a comprehensive approach to weight loss.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments and trends in nutrition and weight management.
  • Facilitate group educational sessions and workshops on various nutrition-related subjects.
  • Maintain precise and confidential records of participant interactions and progress.
  • Engage in program development and enhancement initiatives.
  • Comply with all relevant regulatory and organizational policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • In-depth knowledge of patient care standards and practices.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in computer usage and various software applications, including Electronic Health Records (EHR), Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Aptitude for managing multiple priorities and problem-solving.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure to meet established goals.
  • Commitment to maintaining high levels of professional integrity.
  • Capacity to demonstrate professionalism and sound judgment in patient care, ensuring privacy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to translate general administrative guidelines into actionable steps.
  • Skills in coaching, enrolling, and mentoring individuals.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours as needed.
  • Ability to represent the organization positively.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

A Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related discipline is required; a Master's degree is preferred. A Registered Dietitian (RD) credential and Medical Nutrition Therapy license are mandatory. A minimum of two to three years of relevant experience is essential, along with a strong understanding of current dietary guidelines, medical nutrition therapy, and weight loss methodologies.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position is situated within a healthcare environment. It involves frequent sitting and computer work, allowing for adjustments in physical position for comfort.
  • Physical requirements include:
    • Standing for 10% or more of the workday.
    • Walking for 10% or more of the workday.
    • Sitting for 80% of the workday.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds is required.
  • Tasks may involve bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching above shoulder level, and twisting occasionally.
  • Repetitive hand use for tasks such as simple grasping, fine manipulation, and computer operation is necessary.
  • All sensory skills (speech, vision, smell, touch, and hearing) should be corrected to near-normal range.
