Job Overview

Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. is in search of a Project Manager - Structural Engineer to guide our expanding structural engineering division. This role will encompass managerial responsibilities while serving as the technical authority on various project types, aiding our structural engineering team in the successful execution of daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the division manager to advance towards a leadership position within the structural design team, focusing on performance management, career development, mentoring, staffing, and merit planning. This progression will follow a structured development plan with defined goals and metrics.
  • Oversee project and technical activities conducted by the team.
  • Contribute to proposal development and review content for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain effective communication with team members and clients, both internal and external.
  • Conduct structural analysis, design, and detailing for a variety of building types and materials, adhering to diverse building codes.
  • Coordinate design efforts with in-house personnel and other design professionals, including architects and various engineering disciplines.
  • Prepare construction documentation within a BIM framework, applying standard structural engineering principles and sound judgment to ensure project completion.
  • Design structural components for building projects and specialized systems for industrial clients.
  • Plan tasks, perform technical peer reviews, and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience in structural analysis and design. While management experience is not mandatory, a willingness to develop team leadership skills is essential.
  • Familiarity with concrete, steel, and masonry design codes, as well as local and national building regulations.
  • Understanding of standard construction practices and the ability to collaborate with contractors to resolve construction challenges.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, walk, hike, and stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Manual dexterity to set up equipment, handle samples, and operate tools.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions and terrains.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment.
