Overview

The role involves delivering comprehensive financial and operational insights to the Project Controls team. This position is crucial for conducting cost evaluations, monitoring special project expenditures, and performing various financial assessments. Responsibilities include developing reporting tools for trend analysis, tracking Work Orders (WO), and preparing proposals. A solid understanding of government contracting, financial systems, financial statements, Annual Operating Plans, Budgets, current year forecasts, and Estimate at Complete (EAC) is essential, along with strong analytical capabilities. Collaboration with operational leadership and program support departments is key to fulfilling all responsibilities.

The position reports directly to the Portfolio Project Controls Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain Excel models to enable effective monthly and quarterly financial evaluations at the portfolio level.
  • Conduct financial setups for projects in accordance with contract structures.
  • Analyze costs and revenues, establishing metrics to create uniform solutions and process enhancements across various projects within the portfolio.
  • Promote consistency in financial analysis processes by recommending best practices across programs.
  • Facilitate coordination among various functions within programs to execute Project Control tasks.
  • Establish and uphold a centralized filing system for all deliverables across programs.
  • Review and comprehend contractual obligations for all supported projects and programs.
  • Consolidate WO data from multiple systems in use, such as Maximo, Citrix, and VMOS.
  • Examine and assess cost data related to labor, materials, supplies, parts, equipment, and other expenditures to assist Financial Managers in providing guidance and recommendations to Program Executives.
  • Prepare and support pricing strategies for various types of prime contracts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. One year of experience in Finance, Project Management, or Government Contracts may substitute for one year of education if the degree is in a non-related field.

Experience

  • A minimum of 4 years of business experience, preferably in Project Controls, Financial Reporting, or Contracts Administration within the Defense or Government Contracting sector.
  • Understanding of Earned Value Management System principles.
  • Previous experience in Change Management is preferred.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and related financial applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset with a proactive attitude.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively as a remote team member, adjusting to different time zones.

Nationwide Salary Range

  • $55,000
  • The salary range provided reflects the company's base pay compensation across various locations in the United States. Actual salaries may vary based on job conditions, including the physical worksite location.
