Solar Analyst

Owen Thomas Group is seeking a dedicated Solar Analyst to join our dynamic team in the renewable energy sector. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a competitive salary based on experience.

We are committed to expanding our team with a skilled Solar Analyst who will contribute significantly to our ongoing projects. In this role, you will be instrumental in exploring innovative technical solutions, overseeing a variety of renewable energy initiatives, and analyzing market dynamics to support strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the advancement of Solar PV projects nationwide.
  • Draft and prepare comprehensive internal and external reports and presentations.
  • Engage in financial modeling by assessing project economics, costs, and potential returns; generate financial analyses to guide commercial and operational strategies; and analyze data to uncover and evaluate new development prospects.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, legal, and finance, to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Maintain organized project databases and uphold compliance with industry standards.
  • Support the Managing Director of Solar Development in managing project timelines and budgets.
  • Act as a representative of the company within the development team, engaging with investors, engineers, contractors, consultants, landowners, permitting authorities, and clients.
  • Familiarize yourself with all project documentation, regulatory requirements, and monitor project progress against these benchmarks.
  • Adhere to all document control protocols, particularly concerning critical control documents.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or finance management is required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for modeling, along with exceptional analytical and research capabilities, is essential.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in solar development or finance is preferred.
  • Familiarity with documents, terms, and concepts related to real estate, entitlement, and permitting processes is beneficial.
  • Experience with various national Independent System Operators (ISOs) is advantageous.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills and familiarity with a range of software tools are necessary.
  • Creative thinking to enhance operational efficiency is encouraged.
