Position Overview
AECOM is currently seeking a Senior Water Resources Project Manager to oversee a variety of projects focused on water resource planning and infrastructure development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to design teams on water resource projects, encompassing floodplain modeling, municipal water initiatives, and drainage design.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, engaging in project presentations and promoting AECOM's capabilities to potential clients.
- Participate in the evaluation of project opportunities, consultant selection, and the preparation of qualifications and experience statements.
- Lead contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors, drafting professional service agreements for senior management review.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and monitor subcontractor adherence to commitments.
- Develop project work plans, scopes, schedules, and budgets, effectively communicating these to team members while managing project execution to meet quality and financial objectives.
- Supervise technical professionals and project managers, overseeing workload and staffing needs.
- Monitor and report on the financial status of projects to technical management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 20+ years of experience in water resources management.
- 5+ years of project management experience.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in Colorado or the ability to obtain one within the first six months of employment.
- Experience working with local and regional clients.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including client relations, public speaking, and persuasive communication; proven project financial management skills.
