Overview

This position is integral in conducting cost evaluations, tracking expenses for special projects, performing various financial assessments, and developing reporting tools for trend analysis. Responsibilities also include managing Work Order (WO) tracking, preparing proposals, and necessitate a solid grasp of government contracting, financial systems, financial statements, Annual Operating Plans, Budgets, current year forecasts, and Estimate at Complete (EAC), along with strong analytical capabilities. Collaboration with operational leadership and program support departments is essential to fulfill all responsibilities.

The position reports directly to the Portfolio Project Controls Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain Excel models to enable effective monthly and quarterly financial evaluations at the portfolio level.
  • Execute financial setups for projects in accordance with contract frameworks.
  • Analyze costs and revenues, establishing metrics to create uniform solutions and process enhancements across various projects within the portfolio.
  • Promote consistency in financial analysis methodologies by recommending best practices across programs.
  • Facilitate coordination among various functions within programs to execute Project Control tasks effectively.
  • Develop and uphold a standardized and centralized filing system for all deliverables across programs.
  • Review and comprehend contractual obligations for all supported projects and programs.
  • Consolidate WO data from multiple systems in use, such as Maximo, Citrix, and VMOS.
  • Investigate and evaluate cost data related to labor, materials, supplies, parts, equipment, and other expenditures to assist Financial Managers in providing guidance and recommendations to Program Executives.
  • Assist in preparing and supporting pricing strategies for various types of prime contracts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. One year of experience in Finance, Project Management, or Government Contracts may substitute for one year of education if the degree is in a non-related field.

Experience

  • A minimum of 4 years of professional experience, preferably in Project Controls, Financial Reporting, or Contracts Administration within the Defense or Government Contracting sector.
  • Understanding of Earned Value Management System principles.
  • Prior experience in Change Management is preferred.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and related financial software.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset with a proactive attitude.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks and work effectively as a remote team member, adjusting for different time zones.
