Position Summary
The Benefits Analyst plays a crucial role in managing the daily operations of the 401(k) plan and various group benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance. This position is responsible for recommending enhancements to existing processes and providing analytical support to ensure the effective delivery of benefit programs. Additionally, the analyst ensures compliance with plan regulations and leads significant benefit-related projects, such as the implementation of new vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the company's benefits and 401(k) plans, ensuring accuracy in data input and payroll deductions. Manage benefit-related integration files, resolving errors and addressing root causes of recurring issues.
- Utilize knowledge of benefit plan regulations to interpret and communicate company benefit offerings to HR Business Partners. Act as the primary contact for vendor inquiries related to benefit plans, escalating complex issues as necessary.
- Support special projects by gathering, compiling, and analyzing data; generate and assess reports to ensure data integrity and compliance with applicable laws. Modify reports as needed for further analysis.
- Stay informed on federal and state regulations, including the Affordable Care Act, to assist with benefit administration and year-end processing. Collect data for required forms and provide assistance with basic audit inquiries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Management (6 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree).
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in benefits and 401(k) administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of relevant experience in benefits administration.
- Experience with large employers and mergers & acquisitions.
- Benefits certification, such as CBP or CEBS.
