We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Student Accounts Manager to join our team at Cornish College of the Arts. As a key member of our Finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the Student Accounts department, ensuring the smooth operation of student financial services, and providing excellent customer service to our students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all aspects of student accounts, including advising students and parents on financial situations, administering monthly payment plans, and negotiating deferred tuition contracts.
- Develop and administer student account and bad debt policy and procedure, including creating account billing schedules and determining billing policy, late fee, and refund schedules.
- Manage and update the Student Accounts Office database to accurately charge students tuition and fees, refund students for courses dropped, and report collections to the Finance Office.
- Collaborate with the College's Financial Aid Office to monitor compliance with government and private lending regulations.
- Supervise Student Accounts staff, including hiring and training, establishing work schedules, and conducting annual performance reviews.
- Five years of progressive accounting and/or related experience.
- Experience in Microsoft Office with strong database management and advanced spreadsheet skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Able to work effectively with a diverse population.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must pass background check.
- Knowledge of financial aid process.
- Experience in collections or as an account representative.
- Experience in database design.
- Experience with Jenzabar software.
- Knowledge of bursar guidelines for federal aid.
