Position Overview:

This role acts as the primary Project Leader for assigned projects. Responsibilities encompass project initiation, procurement, contract management, material acquisition, progress monitoring, invoice approval, project scheduling, and fiscal oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients on projects.
  • Develop and uphold schedules related to drawings and delivery timelines, collaborating with suppliers to align internal schedules with project timelines.
  • Work closely with the finance team to create and manage a progress billing schedule.
  • Coordinate effectively with subcontractors.
  • Maintain project budgets, ensuring accountability for profit and loss.
  • Identify and document opportunities for change orders, establishing costs where necessary.
  • Prepare, issue, and monitor the status of change orders for materials exceeding the original contract.
  • Review purchase orders and specifications for new projects to ensure alignment with estimates.
  • Proactively address potential job site and scheduling issues to minimize cost impacts.
  • Lead the department towards achieving its objectives through effective management and leadership.
  • Facilitate coordination with General Contractors and Owners.
  • Mentor Project Coordinators.

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create accurate reports and deliver presentations.
  • Ability to analyze situations, extract critical elements, and interpret implications for informed decision-making.
  • Proficient in planning and controlling work, fostering team development, and improving work methods.
  • Capable of breaking down complex problems into manageable components and understanding critical details.
  • Efficient resource management with a focus on cost reduction.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
  • Proficient in budgeting and financial forecasting to maximize project profitability.
  • Ability to lead through challenges, build consensus, and motivate team members.
  • Skilled in navigating organizational structures to build relationships and achieve results.
  • Proficient in conflict resolution and leveraging team diversity for project success.
  • Experienced in establishing project goals, milestones, and procedures, while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Able to inspire and motivate team members towards achieving project objectives.

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with a flexible approach.
  • Experience in project setup, budget planning, procurement, and cost reporting.
  • Familiarity with critical path scheduling.
  • Energetic and motivated with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of building construction and steel design concepts as presented in architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, On-Screen Estimating software, and ACC Build.
