Your Role:

This position acts as the principal Project Leader for assigned projects. Responsibilities encompass project initiation, procurement processes, contract management, material acquisition, progress monitoring, invoice approvals, project scheduling, and effective communication with the General Contractor. Additionally, the role includes managing change orders, coordinating with Estimators, forecasting job costs, and maintaining overall project financial accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients on projects.
  • Develop and uphold schedules for both design and delivery, collaborating with suppliers to align internal timelines with project schedules.
  • Work in conjunction with the accounting team to create and manage a progress billing schedule.
  • Coordinate activities with subcontractors.
  • Oversee project budgets, ensuring accountability for profit and loss.
  • Identify potential change order opportunities and establish associated costs.
  • Prepare, issue, and monitor the status of change orders for materials beyond the original contract.
  • Review purchase orders and specifications for new projects to ensure alignment with estimates.
  • Proactively address job site and scheduling issues to minimize cost impacts.
  • Ensure departmental goals are met through effective management and leadership.
  • Facilitate coordination with General Contractors and Owners.
  • Mentor Project Coordinators.

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of producing accurate reports and delivering presentations.
  • Ability to analyze situations, comprehend critical elements, and interpret implications effectively.
  • Proficient in planning, controlling work, and motivating team members to enhance work methods and outcomes.
  • Skilled in breaking down complex problems into manageable components and understanding key details.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction principles and practices.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities with a flexible approach to collaboration.
  • Experience in project setup, budget planning, procurement, and cost reporting.
  • Solid understanding of critical path scheduling.
  • Highly motivated and energetic with a sense of urgency.
  • Self-driven and capable of working independently as well as in a team setting.
  • Familiarity with building construction and steel design concepts as presented in architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, On-Screen Estimating software, and ACC Build.
