The Lead Inventory Accounting Specialist is responsible for maintaining the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records related to inventory management. This role involves recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions into the Subledgers and General Ledger.

The Lead Inventory Accounting Specialist will oversee the documentation of inventory and maintenance expenditures, generate comprehensive inventory reports, and ensure that accounting practices comply with corporate policies, US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and IFRS standards where applicable.

This position serves as a crucial link between the Accounting, Inventory Supply Chain, and Maintenance Departments to guarantee precise and timely reporting of inventory and maintenance financial data.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct daily accounting operations to ensure the timely and accurate completion of financial information.
  • Manage the entire accounting process within the designated jurisdiction while adhering to standardized practices, internal controls, and procedures.
  • Analyze variances, budgets, and forecasts; perform accounting and reporting on maintenance and inventory expenses.
  • Prepare month-end Supply Chain transactions and inventory reports utilizing material movement and accounting documents from SAP or RAMCO; scrutinize all inventory transactions.
  • Facilitate monthly meetings with Maintenance Managers and Fleet Support teams.
  • Generate monthly management reports concerning Maintenance and Repair (M&R) expenses.
  • Conduct Global Inventory Reserve Analysis and coordinate Inventory Reserve Reviews with Management.
  • Oversee Stock Write Down or Maintenance Expense Journals for Reserve.
  • Draft Inventory Reserve Memos for Management review.
  • Assist in developing a coordinated D&E process for new fleet types.
  • Update Inventory Reserve fleet plans and models.
  • Participate in the monthly accounting close cycle to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Prepare and record recurring and nonrecurring journal entries.
  • Compile monthly Inventory, Maintenance, and other Supply Chain transactions along with balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses, investigating variances in accounts.
  • Support the execution of SOX controls critical to the closing process to ensure compliance with the company's accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist in preparing internal process documentation.
  • Develop and apply in-depth knowledge of the Company’s financial reporting tools (Hyperion/OneStream) and general ledger and inventory accounting systems (SAP/RAMCO) for internal reporting purposes.
  • Prepare schedules related to inventory and assist internal and external auditors with their inquiries.
  • Recommend updates to accounting policies concerning inventory to management.
  • Handle ad hoc requests, schedules, and reports as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience is essential, preferably within the energy services sector.
  • Experience with ERP General Ledger accounting systems, ideally SAP.
  • Familiarity with legal entities and foreign currencies across international contexts.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS, particularly regarding inventory.
  • Experience in a global, international organization is preferred.

  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Office, with strong Excel capabilities.

  • Demonstrate strong analytical and investigative skills, with a commitment to resolving accounting discrepancies and reconciliations promptly.
