Senior Accounting Specialist Position at an Accounting Consulting Firm

Job Overview:

  • An Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience in the accounting sector.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, with a preference for candidates with retail industry exposure.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software is essential.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel are required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to work independently are necessary.
  • Ability to manage and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Strong professional communication skills are a must.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Accounts Payable functions, including the input, review, and payment of invoices, as well as vendor follow-ups when required.
  • Process credit card transactions accurately.
  • Review and input payroll on a bimonthly basis, including 401K and HSA reporting.
  • Oversee cash flow activities such as deposits, wire transfers, Positive Pay, and the generation of cash reports.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations for bank and credit card accounts.
  • Prepare 1099 forms as necessary.
  • Liaise with CPA firms and assist in providing year-end information for tax preparation.
