Position Overview

Role Summary:
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is responsible for interviewing patients and initiating care within our clinics, playing a crucial role in the delivery of healthcare services, including specimen collection and communication of test results.

Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct patient interviews to gather and document medical history, including current health issues, medication usage, and allergy history.
* Measure vital signs and perform standard tests according to clinic protocols.
* Coordinate and execute follow-up procedures as instructed by healthcare providers, which may include onsite testing, specimen collection, and wound care.
* Assist healthcare providers with procedures such as applying sutures or splints.
* Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care, including timely notifications of test and lab results, while explaining practice policies with cultural sensitivity and active listening.
* Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, ensuring all necessary forms and documentation are completed.
* Collect and prepare specimens for transport to external laboratories as required.
* Monitor and maintain clinical supplies and medications to ensure efficient operations.
* Foster a safe, clean, and secure clinical environment by adhering to standard precautions and infection control principles.

Additional Information:
Qualifications:
Required:
* Current Medical Assistant Certification (AAMA CMA, AMT RMA, NHA CCMA, or NCCT NCMA).
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
* Ability to lift supplies and equipment regularly and navigate the clinical area actively during work hours.
Preferred:
* Previous experience in a clinical environment.
