Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide essential patient care by taking vital signs, conducting basic assessments, and explaining medical information under the guidance of healthcare providers.
  • Assist with clinical procedures as directed by providers, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation.
  • Perform blood draws; IV experience is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Manage medical registration tasks efficiently, ensuring accurate check-in and check-out processes, confirming patient demographics, verifying insurance, and collecting payments.
  • Handle incoming calls, assist patients with scheduling, and relay messages to appropriate providers.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in a physician office or clinic setting, preferably in Internal Medicine or Primary Care.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a customer-oriented approach.
  • Ability to manage high call volumes and multitask effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with various insurance types, pre-authorizations, and pre-certifications.
  • Proficient in obtaining patient vitals and history, as well as performing effective telephone triage.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and assist with inventory management as needed.
  • Provide a warm and friendly greeting to patients upon arrival.
  • Responsible for checking patients in and out, answering phones, and scheduling appointments.
  • Ensure proper documentation is scanned into our system and maintain a tidy office lobby.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant, CNA, or EMT is mandatory.

Experience:

  • Preferred one year of experience in a medical office setting.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) are essential.
  • Knowledge of health insurance processes is preferred.
  • Prior customer service experience is advantageous.

Skills:

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented, particularly regarding patient information and needs.
  • Capable of remaining calm and effectively de-escalating situations with upset patients.
