Role Responsibilities:

As a Medical Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in patient care by taking vital signs and conducting basic assessments.
  • Providing explanations of basic medical information to patients under the guidance of healthcare providers.
  • Performing blood draws and assisting with procedures as directed by providers.

In addition, as a Registration Specialist, you will:

  • Ensure a smooth and accurate check-in and check-out process for patients.
  • Confirm patient registration details and demographics, verify insurance information, and collect payments.
  • Handle phone inquiries and assist patients with scheduling and other non-clinical needs.

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in a physician office or clinic setting, preferably in Internal Medicine or Primary Care.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills, along with excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to manage high call volumes and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of common insurance types and pre-authorization processes.
  • Experience in obtaining patient vitals and history, as well as performing effective telephone triage.

Educational Background:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant, CNA, or EMT is mandatory.

Experience Requirements:

  • Preferred one year of experience in a medical office setting.
  • Proficient in computer skills and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Familiarity with health insurance processes is preferred.
