Position Overview

Are you ready to contribute to a pivotal cloud modernization initiative? We are seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer with expertise in cloud technologies to deliver enterprise-level engineering, architecture, and integration support for the future architecture of our Commercial Cloud Enterprise (C2E) environment.

As part of the Enterprise Engineering & Architecture Group's Lead Integrator Team, you will collaborate with fellow C2E System Engineers, Enterprise Engineers, Architects, Integrators, and the Cloud PMO to facilitate C2E acquisition integration. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Collaborating with Expert and Senior C2E System Engineers to conduct various enterprise engineering analyses, such as Vendor Comparisons of Service Offerings and End-to-End Enterprise Requirements Traceability; assisting in the identification and definition of enterprise requirements while enhancing NGA's Multiple Cloud / Integrated Platform as a Service (iPaaS) Architecture Patterns.
  • As an emerging thought leader, explore and provide insights on utilizing iPaaS as a scalable solution for managing and orchestrating a multi-cloud environment, evaluating various implementation options with your C2E System Engineer colleagues.
  • Identify and document IT Risks, Issues, and Opportunities associated with C2E engineering and integration.
  • Support the creation of briefings and engineering documentation for Agency Engineering and Architecture Review Boards, Readiness Reviews, and various Acquisition Milestones.
  • Engage with Mission Partners to comprehend C2E strategies; collaborate with your C2E System Engineer teammates to pinpoint services that can enhance efficiencies, coordinate system migrations across agencies and multiple clouds, and document the relevant architectures.
  • Provide technical insights and assessments to address C2E technical and business challenges.
  • Participate in cross-organization initiatives to ensure alignment and progress towards shared objectives (e.g., advancing architecture patterns to the Enterprise in a Multiple Cloud, PaaS/iPaaS environment).
As a Mid-Level C2E Systems Engineer, you should possess:
  • Hands-on experience with Cloud Service Providers (e.g., AWS, Microsoft, Oracle, Google) and/or relevant Cloud training.
  • A solid understanding and demonstrated experience with engineering processes, including Architecture, Requirements, Integration, Testing, and Transition.
  • A willingness to learn under the guidance of Expert and Senior C2E System Engineers, gaining practical experience in enterprise engineering and architecture related to C2E, iPaaS, and other transformative initiatives.
  • A passion for developing engineering thought leadership and planning capabilities.
Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM field.
  • A minimum of 6 years of technical experience is required. If the 6 years of experience is as a Cloud Architect, it may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 6 years of experience in architecting cloud-based systems.
  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or the ability to obtain SCI and pass a polygraph examination.
Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Microsoft, Oracle, and/or Google).
  • Familiarity with multi-cloud concepts.
  • Experience or working knowledge of Platform-As-A-Service (PaaS).
  • Experience or working knowledge of DevSecOps principles and practices.
  • Experience or working knowledge of the Systems Engineering lifecycle.
  • Experience with agile project management tools, such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Cloud Certification(s).
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Certification(s).
