We are seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer with expertise in Cloud technologies to support enterprise engineering, architecture, and integration efforts that will shape the future of NGA's Commercial Cloud Enterprise (C2E) environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a vital member of the Enterprise Engineering & Architecture Group's Lead Integrator Team, you will collaborate with C2E System Engineer colleagues, Enterprise Engineers, Architects, Integrators, and the Cloud PMO to facilitate C2E acquisition integration. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Collaborating with Expert and Senior C2E System Engineers to conduct comprehensive enterprise engineering analyses, including Vendor Comparisons of Service Offerings and End-to-End Enterprise Requirements Traceability, to define enterprise requirements and enhance NGA's Multiple Cloud / Integrated Platform as a Service (iPaaS) Architecture Patterns.
  • As an emerging thought leader, explore and provide insights on utilizing iPaaS as a scalable solution for managing and orchestrating a multi-cloud environment, assessing various implementation options with your C2E System Engineer peers.
  • Identify and document IT Risks, Issues, and Opportunities related to C2E engineering and integration.
  • Assist in preparing briefings and engineering documentation for Agency Engineering and Architecture Review Boards, Readiness Reviews, and various Acquisition Milestones.
  • Engage with Mission Partners to understand C2E strategies; collaborate with C2E System Engineer teammates to identify services that NGA can utilize for improved efficiencies, coordinate system migrations across agencies and multiple clouds, and document the corresponding architectures.
  • Provide technical insights and assessments to address C2E technical and business challenges.
  • Participate in cross-organization initiatives to ensure alignment and progress towards common objectives, such as advancing architecture patterns within the Enterprise (Multiple Cloud, PaaS/iPaaS environment).
Qualifications

As a Mid-Level C2E Systems Engineer, you should possess:
  • Hands-on experience with Cloud Service Providers (e.g., AWS, Microsoft, Oracle, Google) and/or relevant Cloud training.
  • A solid understanding and practical experience with engineering processes, including Architecture, Requirements, Integration, Testing, and Transition.
  • A willingness to learn under the guidance of Expert and Senior C2E System Engineers, gaining practical experience in enterprise engineering and architecture with C2E, iPaaS, and other transformative initiatives.
  • A strong interest in developing engineering thought leadership and planning capabilities.
Essential Skills and Experience:

Required:
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM field.
  • A minimum of 6 years of technical experience is required. If your experience includes working as a Cloud Architect, it may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 6 years of experience in architecting cloud-based systems.
  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or the ability to obtain SCI and pass a polygraph examination.
Desired:
  • Experience with Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Microsoft, Oracle, and/or Google).
  • Familiarity with multi-cloud concepts.
  • Knowledge of Platform-As-A-Service (PaaS).
  • Understanding of DevSecOps principles and practices.
  • Experience with the Systems Engineering lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with agile project management tools, such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Relevant Cloud Certifications.
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Certifications.
