Position Overview

Are you ready to contribute to the modernization of cloud systems at NGA? We are seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer with expertise in cloud technologies to support enterprise engineering, architecture, and integration for NGA's Commercial Cloud Enterprise (C2E) initiative.

Key Responsibilities

As a vital member of the Enterprise Engineering & Architecture Group's Lead Integrator Team, you will collaborate with C2E System Engineers, Enterprise Engineers, Architects, Integrators, and the Cloud PMO to facilitate C2E acquisition integration. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Working closely with Expert and Senior C2E System Engineers to conduct various enterprise engineering analyses, such as Vendor Comparisons of Service Offerings and End-to-End Enterprise Requirements Traceability. You will assist in identifying and defining enterprise requirements and enhancing NGA's Multiple Cloud / Integrated Platform as a Service (iPaaS) Architecture Patterns.
  • Acting as an emerging thought leader by exploring and providing insights into iPaaS as a scalable solution for managing and orchestrating a multi-cloud environment, while assessing different implementation options with your C2E System Engineer colleagues.
  • Identifying and documenting IT Risks, Issues, and Opportunities associated with C2E engineering and integration.
  • Contributing to the creation of briefings and engineering documentation for Agency Engineering and Architecture Review Boards, Readiness Reviews, and various Acquisition Milestones.
  • Engaging with Mission Partners to understand the C2E strategy and collaborating with your C2E System Engineer teammates to identify services that NGA can utilize for operational efficiencies, coordinating system migrations across agencies and multiple clouds, and documenting the related architectures.
  • Providing technical insights and assessments to address C2E technical and business challenges.
  • Participating in cross-organization initiatives to ensure alignment and progress towards shared objectives, such as advancing architecture patterns in a multi-cloud, PaaS/iPaaS environment.
Qualifications

As a Mid-Level C2E Systems Engineer, you should possess:
  • Hands-on experience with Cloud Service Providers (e.g., AWS, Microsoft, Oracle, Google) and/or relevant Cloud training.
  • A solid understanding of engineering processes, including Architecture, Requirements, Integration, Testing, and Transition.
  • A willingness to learn from Expert and Senior C2E System Engineers, gaining practical experience in enterprise engineering and architecture related to C2E, iPaaS, and other transformative initiatives.
  • A passion for developing engineering thought leadership and planning capabilities.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM field.
  • A minimum of 6 years of technical experience is required. If your experience includes 6 years as a Cloud Architect, it may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 6 years of experience in architecting cloud-based systems.
  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or the ability to obtain SCI clearance and pass a polygraph examination.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Microsoft, Oracle, and/or Google).
  • Familiarity with multi-cloud concepts.
  • Knowledge of Platform-As-A-Service (PaaS).
  • Understanding of DevSecOps principles and practices.
  • Experience with the Systems Engineering lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with agile project management tools, such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Cloud Certification(s).
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Certification(s).
