Key Responsibilities
  • Welcoming Patients and Visitors: Greet patients and visitors with a warm and inviting smile, answering or referring inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Providing Exceptional Customer Service: Demonstrate a high level of customer service at all times, ensuring patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
  • Generating Reports and Logs: Compile reports, logs, and lists with a high level of accuracy, including authorization and verifications.
  • Managing Co-pays and Credit: Ensure co-pays are tallied and reconciled, and control credit extended to patients.
  • Communicating with Physicians: Call treating physicians to obtain updated prescriptions for treatment by Occupational and Physical Therapists.
  • Updating Patient Records: Obtain Plan of Cares from treating physicians and update the system.
  • Setting Up Patient Cases: Set up new and returning patient cases in Theraoffice, including obtaining new demographic information and all existing insurance information.
  • Coordinating Appointments: Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying clinicians of patient arrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays.
  • Maintaining Confidentiality: Maintain strictest confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
Requirements
  • Experience: One year of Physical Therapy/Medical office experience.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with an EMR system is a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate with customers, coworkers, and management in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Compliance: Current or recent experience in a medical practice assuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.
  • Teamwork: Must work well within a team environment.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in the Google Suite platform and ability to learn new programs quickly.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
