Certified Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a dedicated Certified Respiratory Therapist CRT to join our team at HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood. As a key member of our Respiratory Care Department, you will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients of all ages, from basic respiratory care to intensive respiratory care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and more.
Responsibilities- Provide respiratory care to patients, including basic respiratory care, intensive respiratory care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, arterial blood gas, electrocardiograms, and basic pulmonary function testing.
- Verify and sign all new orders for respiratory care, ensuring that all physician orders coincide with current departmental policy.
- Recognize, interpret, and record signs and symptoms of respiratory dysfunction and medication side effects, particularly those that require notification of a physician.
- Initiate and maintain cardiopulmonary resuscitation and other life-support procedures, ensuring adequate airway management and assisting with intubation.
- Prevent contamination and transfer of infection through proper techniques and protocols.
- Know the mechanics of ventilation and ventilator function.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 60 months of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 60 months of employment start date.
- Associate Degree from an accredited respiratory program.
- Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) issued by the Texas Medical Board.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- A minimum of 1 year experience in acute care, with new graduates considered.
