The Georgia-Pacific Naheola Mill is seeking a highly skilled Safety Emergency Response Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Safety Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to all mill emergencies, including medical, fires, HAZMAT, and confined space rescue.
  • Assume incident command role and lead in-house responders in mitigation and emergency control.
  • Maintain emergency response equipment, conduct drills, and train team members.
  • Coordinate with the Safety Department to execute the mill safety plan, conduct safe work practice audits, and participate in incident investigations.
  • Provide overall safety resources on shift and support the mill's emergency response efforts.
  • Work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule and be willing to work scheduled off days, holidays, and weekends as needed.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint, to support daily tasks and responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification, National or State, or ability to complete certification within 12 months of hire date.
  • One (1) or more years' experience with occupational health programs in an industrial or manufacturing setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Firefighter One (I) or higher.
  • OSHA 30-hour General Industry Certification.
  • Incident Command Training qualified with experience in an incident command role.
