Logistics Planning Manager, Bureau of Emergency Field Operations

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response is seeking a skilled Logistics Planning Manager to join their team. As a key member of the incident command structure during emergencies, this individual will be responsible for managing the Distribution Planning Group, including one coordinator, and creating and maintaining oversight of Group goals, objectives, and milestones.
The ideal candidate will have three or more years of experience managing staff in an office setting supporting distribution or logistics operations, as well as experience working with a 3PL Warehouse and/or an inventory management system. Strong project/program management skills, exceptional writing, communications, organizational, and interpersonal skills are also essential.
The Logistics Planning Manager will be responsible for managing partner warehouse relationships, overseeing distribution and item maintenance planning for all Bureau scenarios, and tracking and facilitating testing and replacement of pharmaceuticals and IT equipment. Additionally, they will lead the build and maintenance of first responder pharmaceutical caches, PHERN ADP, and other pharmaceutical distribution plans related to a large-scale, MCM distribution.
The successful candidate will be a key member of the incident command structure during emergencies and will be responsible for ensuring the effective distribution of essential items to support emergency response efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the Distribution Planning Group, including one coordinator, and create and maintain oversight of Group goals, objectives, and milestones.
- Manage partner warehouse relationships to ensure item maintenance and distribution planning are built, maintained, and executed as required.
- Oversee distribution and item maintenance planning for all Bureau scenarios, including collaborating with the Planning Group to ensure logistics plans support scenario-based operations.
- Track and facilitate testing and replacement of pharmaceuticals and IT equipment.
- Lead the build and maintenance of first responder pharmaceutical caches, PHERN ADP, and other pharmaceutical distribution plans related to a large-scale, MCM distribution.
Requirements:
- Three or more years of experience managing staff in an office setting supporting distribution or logistics operations.
- Experience working with a 3PL Warehouse and/or an inventory management system.
- Strong project/program management skills.
- Exceptional writing, communications, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
